Short version: DiploMate collects your email and name when you sign up. We use it only to run your account and send exam-related notifications. We never sell your data. Ever.
1. Who We Are
DiploMate ("we", "our", "us") is an online exam preparation platform for diploma engineering students in India, accessible at diplomate.online. We help students prepare for government engineering exams like SSC JE, RRB JE and PGCIL.
2. What Information We Collect
Information you provide:
- Account details: Your name, email address when you sign up via email or Google OAuth
- Branch and exam selection: Which engineering branch and target exam you choose
- Payment information: Handled entirely by Razorpay. We only receive confirmation that payment was successful — we never see your card or banking details
Information collected automatically:
- Study progress (chapters read, questions attempted, scores) — stored in your browser and our database to track your preparation
- Basic usage data (pages visited, features used) to improve the platform
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your DiploMate account
- To provide access to study material, practice questions and mock tests
- To send you exam notifications, result alerts and renewal reminders (max 3 types of emails)
- To show your performance analytics and progress tracking
- To process payments through Razorpay
- To improve DiploMate based on how students use the platform
4. Third-Party Services
DiploMate uses the following third-party services:
- Supabase — Database and authentication. Your account data is stored securely on Supabase servers. Supabase Privacy Policy
- Google OAuth — For "Sign in with Google". We only receive your name and email from Google. Google Privacy Policy
- Razorpay — For payment processing. We never store your payment card details. Razorpay Privacy Policy
- Google Gemini AI — For the AI Doubt Solver. Your questions are sent to Google's AI API to generate answers. Do not include personal information in your doubt questions.
- Hostinger — Website hosting. Standard server logs may be collected.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your account data is stored on Supabase's secure servers with encryption at rest and in transit. Your study progress is stored in your browser's localStorage as well as our database. We use industry-standard HTTPS encryption for all data transmission.
6. Your Rights
- Access: You can view your account data in your Dashboard at any time
- Delete: Email us at support@diplomate.online to request account deletion. We will delete your data within 7 business days
- Opt-out: You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send
7. Children's Privacy
DiploMate is intended for students who are 17 years of age or older (diploma engineering students). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
8. Cookies
We use browser localStorage (not traditional cookies) to store your session, preferences and study progress. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies. You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser's storage.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on our website. Continued use of DiploMate after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
